MWA and ARES, Emergency Partners:
When called into action amateur radio has always been there to provide communications in the time of local and national disaster. The organization that coordinates this training and activities is ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service). Our Emergency Coordinator in Monongalia County is Alan Harris, KD8BMI. You do not need to be a member of the Monongalia Wireless Association or any amateur radio club to become a member. All licensed radio amateurs are eligible to join.
